He knows the stories of the beginning of the world and the melodies of Tibola, the white elephant. He saw the bird Fofolo, flying after the sun's rays. Deep from the distant ages, Lenge's face and voice recall Gbanga-Tita, God's calabash. "There was the river, the forest and the children..." He is the last tale-teller in this part of the forest.
