Ying Chi tries out the effectiveness of a herbal medicine by poisoning herself, before using it to heal the sickness of Kay Chun, who recovers and feels grateful towards her. When Kay Yuk learns about the ammunitions and the map, he persuades Sum Chi to hand it over to him. At first, Sum Chi refuses. After Kay Yuk promises to grant the power over the army to him when he becomes King, Sum Chi yields to his demand.
Kay Yuk is shocked with dismay on learning that his father has passed the throne to his brother Kay Chun. Kay Yuk starts a row with his father who dies with a stroke. Kay Chun learns about his father's death with grief. He confronts Kay Yuk and disowns him as brother.
Sum Hung attempts to assassinate Kay Chun, but is stopped by Sum Chi.
