WAH’s brother TSU FAI-CHO tells her about TAI’s frequent visits to the Willow Court. She reveals her husband’s love for being whipped in times of troubles. PO tells TAI one of the princes has been demoted to common people for no apparent reason. He also worries about WAH. TAI, however, thinks he worries too much. In fact, TAI cares for nothing now except for the secret of attaining immortality. YEUNG learns by chance that TO has died. FUNG concludes that he was killed in one stab, which only a kung fu expert can manage. The memory of childhood flashes through FUNG’s mind as he plays the flute. He returns to the fishing village, and is astonished to learn that it has been slaughtered and is now known as the Ghost Valley. Later, he tells PO his encounter with the “Headless General”. YEUNG demands to go for a look with them. FUNG and YEUNG are rendered unconscious, while PO is nowhere to be found.
