Having been admitted into Pao Leung Kuk similar to Girls' Home due to a slip in childhood herself, she takes a special interest ing juvenile delinquency after graduation and joins the Society for the Protection of Children.
One day, she has a row with Ting Hao-jan over calling a taxi in the street. Hao-jan plays a cripple to fool her into giving him priority to the ride, and then makes face at her, much to her repugnance.
Hao-jan is also a university graduate in social science, but opts for work in tourism due to better chances of promotion. He later finds the job not satisfactory and grows weary of it.
Hao-jan and Au Te-ping are neighbors and childhood friends. They both love a childhood playmate Chang Yu-chuan. But Yu-chuan loves football star Te-ping and later marries him.
